BBC does know how to translate ‘Yahud’ – when it is said in the UK

Thank you to all the readers who took the trouble to contact us to point out that – in contrast to its misrepresentation of the meaning of the word ‘Yahud’ in Lyse Doucet’s recent programme ‘Children of the Gaza War’ – the BBC managed only relatively recently to provide its audiences with a correct translation of that Arabic word.

Relatedly, it would appear that complaints on that issue are being answered with one of the BBC complaints department’s template responses.

Of course that reply does not address the underlying issue which prompted the complaints.
